Welcome to Winter! Well, not officially, but after nearly 9” of snowfall last night in some areas, it sure does feel like Winter has arrived. So today feels like a good day to discuss the ever-growing request for a well utilized mudroom!
The ever popular mudroom is a space where you and your family arrive and depart on a daily basis. A space that can easily become a dumping zone for all of your cold weather accessories. We are lucky to have such beautiful seasons here in New England, but with each season change, comes the need for specific storage solutions for all of our gear. Although this space tends to be high traffic, it’s also the the first impression of your home. We are finding that more and more homeowners are requesting help in creating an inviting and highly functional entry. Since no two households are the same, each space can be individually customized to fit your specific needs.
To start, you’ll want to make a list of your mudroom storage needs. Do you need hooks for coats, bags and hats? If so, how many? Do you want these hooks exposed, or should everything be behind cabinet doors? Do you need drawers for accessories such as mittens or dog leashes? Will you want a bench to sit down on? Does this bench double as storage for toys, or is it open below for a place to tuck your boots? Would you like a message board for last minute reminders, or an area to charge your electronics? There are so many ways to achieve the storage you need, be it for yourself, for the whole the family and even for those four legged friends!
No matter what the request, one of our designers would be happy to help you make the most of your home’s entryway. Give us a call or stop by the showroom if this project has been on your list. The very first display you’ll see when you arrive to the showroom will be a mudroom display, so hang your coat, make a coffee and start planning the mudroom you’ve always been wishing you had!
